How Mould-DRY began

Our vision was to provide durable and efficient energy-saving technologies, as energy costs account for a significant proportion of household expenditure. We were among the first companies in the German-speaking market to manufacture and distribute high-quality, efficient and long-lasting infrared heating systems.

At that time, it became clear that infrared heating systems offered the greatest potential for household energy savings. Achieving meaningful savings required the use of highly efficient technical equipment. We faced very little competition in the field of high-quality infrared heating systems, while public awareness of the physical principles and operation of infrared technology remained limited.

Many new retailers introduced low-cost infrared products from Asia, but these products failed to meet customers’ expectations. We therefore decided to develop the most efficient and sustainable infrared products and manufacture them entirely in Austria.

Our company achieved a breakthrough in infrared heating efficiency by using innovative coating technologies for heating applications. For the first time, it became possible to design electric space heaters without heating wires, coils, heavy insulation materials or bulky housings, allowing them to convert electrical energy into radiant heat with virtually no energy loss.

By working with suppliers and manufacturing companies from German-speaking countries, we were able to produce 100% locally manufactured products of the highest efficiency and quality. This also marked the birth of Mould-DRY, a compact drying unit for damp areas.

Mould-DRY provides an efficient and sustainable method for addressing moisture damage and tackling or preventing mould without the need for large drying equipment — even in the home.

In the interests of sustainability, we restored a 250-year-old stable building in Launsdorf, Carinthia, idyllically situated beside a river and overlooking Hochosterwitz Castle. This meant that no new buildings had to be constructed and no additional land had to be sealed.

Our employees manufacture, package and dispatch Mould-DRY in an environment free from industrial congestion — a place that provides renewed energy and motivation every day.

For Mould-DRY, we used a patented nanotube-based coating technology for the first time, developed in collaboration with a renowned German institute.

Following the success of Mould-DRY, it was time to expand and relaunch the product. The glass heating panels previously used were replaced with quartz ceramic panels, further improving both heat radiation performance and appearance.

We upgraded our production facility so that the entire manufacturing process — from cutting and grinding the heating panels to coating, producing and assembling the electrical components — can be carried out entirely in Austria. Everything from a single source — made in Austria.

The continued success of Mould-DRY, with more than 10,000 orders per month, required additional quality management measures and the optimisation of various production and logistics processes.

We also installed photovoltaic systems, allowing us to make our production 100% CO₂-neutral and environmentally friendly using energy from our own solar installations and hydropower.

In response to growing international demand for our products, we introduced additional manufacturing facilities and quality management processes in early 2024. Together with the associated product and company certifications, these measures now allow us to expand further across Europe and deliver to the United States.
